How I Am Currently Farming SocialFI Airdrops — Warpcast

Airdrops, node running, and DeFi are all part of my crypto passive income strategy. I believe that SocialFI will be one of the fastest-growing sectors in this bull run and is one of the most underrated crypto airdrops. In this series of articles, I will share information about three SocialFI airdrops that I find particularly promising.

• Warpcast: A decentralized-by-design platform alternative to X (Twitter) and Reddit. (EP1)
• Phaver: Similar to Warpcast but with a stronger focus on mobile app (EP2)
• Talent: A potential LinkedIn killer, according to their vision (EP3)

Warpcast

If you know how to use Twitter, you’ll find Warpcast familiar and easy to use. The good thing is that Warpcast is still in a blue ocean, allowing you to grow your audience more easily.

Farming Warpcast is quite straightforward; you simply need to focus on creating organic content and engaging with your audience.

Blue checkmark

For this airdrop guide, there are currently no technical testnet tasks or social quests. My goal is to level up from a normal user to a power user, which will earn a small blue checkmark next to your profile name, similar to the blue checkmark on Twitter. Many people in Discord have been discussing the significantly higher airdrop potential if we achieve this status.

Quality > Quantity

This is quoted from the official Warpcast guide, it is recommended to post only a few times per week. Posting spam or simple “gm” messages everyday can easily harm your internal ranking.

Warpcast levels up users every Tuesday based on their internal scoring system.

Streak challenge

They recently released a feature for daily posting in a channel. Every user can select only one channel and post every day. If the streak breaks, it will restart at zero. My personal view on this is similar to the GM feature in Layer3: the more GM streak, the higher the potential for airdrops.

Creating channel

Since this platform is still in its early stages, you can create your own channel to focus on specific content and engage in niche areas. I have tried this, though still with a limited follower, in the “vintage-lens” channel where I share photos and lens equipment taken with my vintage lens collection.

However, creating a channel requires 2,500 Warp tokens, which you can purchase directly through their app. These tokens can be bought from your profile tab using ETH, USDC, or other coins on the Base network. Some influencers (KOLs) recommend purchasing and holding these Warp tokens, suggesting that the TGE price may pump hard. While I feel this is pure speculation, I am holding a few of them myself, hahaha. “DYOR — NFA”

“The hubble” — The farcaster node

There was one airdrop for node runners in the past. However, Farcaster has officially stated that they have no current or future plans to incentivize airdrop rewards for node runners. Despite this, many people, including myself, continue to run nodes to contribute to the decentralized system, hoping they might change their minds in the future.

My final thoughts about this

Apart from airdrops, I see tremendous potential in Warpcast and its ecosystem. There are many exciting features you can build and embed into the system, such as tipping creators, daily reward lucky wheel games, minting NFTs, and more.
